With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tyson Thomas Wells, who left us far too soon at the age of 27. Tyson was born on September 1, 1997, to Kim (Wells) Bakko and Luke Norgren, and passed away on June 9, 2025.
Tyson attended school in Moorhead, MN until 8th grade, before moving to Pelican Rapids, where he graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 2016. As a young boy, Tyson played baseball, wrestled, and played football, but his true passion was the outdoors. From the moment he could walk, he was outside, enjoying hunting and fishing, passions he carried with him into adulthood.
During high school, Tyson began working with his grandpa Bill, grading roads, and grandpa Rocky, trapping minnows. After high school, he expanded the family business, founding Wells Construction, which included landscaping and tree removal. Tyson was known as "Boss Man" by those he worked with because of his leadership and work ethic, often having a hard time saying no.
Tyson was a gentle giant with a caring and selfless nature. He had an innate ability to put others before himself, and his warmth, kindness, and steady presence made him a cherished friend and family member. He had a way of making everyone feel special and valued, offering support and love without hesitation. His slight smile and calm demeanor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Above all, Tyson was devoted to his family and friends, and his legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Tyson is survived by his loving family. His mom, Kim (Jason) Bakko; siblings, Brayden & Harper. His dad, Luke (Heather) Norgren; siblings, Cadynce, Jullian, & Reid. Grandparents; Bill Wells, Yvonne Wells & Rocky & Kathy Norgren. Uncles; Billy Wells & Chris (Krista) Nehk, Jordan, Jacob (Kasey); Aubrey, Kash, & Briggs, Liberty & Piper. Aunts: Chrissy (Chris) Phillips, Olivia, Hadley & Dylan, Kristi (Chad) Christianson, Devin, Kalli, Brooklyn & Mason, Josie (Todd) Weston, Rockie & Zeiss and a wide circle of friends who will carry his memory forward.
A funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard, MN on Saturday, June 14 at 1:00 pm where we will honor his memory and the profound impact, he made on all of us.
Rest in peace, Tyson. You will never be forgotten.
