Rodney Joel “Rod” Lehn, age 60, of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, passed away on September 4, 2025, in Pelican Rapids.
Rod was born on November 26, 1964, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He grew up in the Pelican Rapids area and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1983. Following high school, he pursued technical training and earned a degree in Heating and Cooling from a local technical college. This education laid the foundation for a long and dedicated career in the HVAC/R industry.
Over the years, Rod became well known for his work ethic and skill in heating and cooling services. He operated his own business, Rod’s Heating and Cooling, LLC, and also worked alongside Faron Pederson as an HVAC subcontractor. His commitment to his craft and his clients earned him respect throughout the community.
Rod was known not only for his professional dedication but also for his generous spirit. He was a deeply caring individual who never hesitated to lend a hand when someone was in need. Whether it was helping with a repair or simply offering support, Rod could always be counted on.
He had a love for the outdoors that began early in life. Fishing brought him peace and joy throughout the years. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting trips with family and friends. One particularly memorable trip took place when he was just sixteen—on a moose hunting expedition to Canada with family members, Rod was the only one in the group to successfully bring down a moose.
Though Rod never married or had children of his own, he found great joy in spending time with his extended family. He shared a special bond with his six nieces, fifteen great-nieces, and three great-nephews. At family gatherings, it was not uncommon to see children running to greet him with excitement—and Rod would meet them with equal enthusiasm. He delighted in playing with them for hours on end, creating cherished memories that will live on through those who loved him.
Rod is survived by his brother Tom Lehn; sister Colleen Pechia; six nieces; fifteen great-nieces; three great-nephews; as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father Roger Lehn; Mother Janice Lehn; and brother Timothy Lehn.
