Phyllis Joy Scheer

Phyllis Joy Scheer, age 90, of Erhard, MN, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Pioneer Senior Cottages, Fergus Falls, MN under the care of LB Hospice. Phyllis was born on July 8, 1928 in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Emil and Alma (Rogholt) Brandt. She attended school in Pelican Rapids, graduating from Pelican Rapids High School in 1946.  Following her graduation Phyllis worked at the Erhard Grocery Store.  On September 28, 1947, Phyllis married Willis Scheer at Bagstevold Lutheran Church in Erhard. She helped Willis on the farm while raising their children. Willis died on May 28, 2009. Phyllis was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard for many years taught Sunday School. She was also a member of their Ladies Aid and the sewing circles.  She took pleasure in doing crafts, ceramics, and quilting. Phyllis enjoyed bowling on Tuesday afternoon on a league for many years. She loved flowers, traveling with Willis, and going to auction sales.  She also enjoyed outings with friends and mostly spending time with family. Phyllis is survived by her children: Renee (Brian) Shores, Steven (Vicki) Scheer, Scott Scheer, Shannon (Bev) Scheer; seven grandchildren: Tracy (Greg) Williams, Shawn (Kim) Scheer, Sheri Scheer (Ron Lyman), Wendy Stoll, Stacy (Kerry) Shapiro, Lisa (Andy) Miller, and Nicole Scheer; twelve great-grandchildren: Justin Williams, Nicholas Williams, Celeste Stoll, Jace Kalis, Austin Stoll, Jesse Scheer-Lyman, Jaden Miller, Mia Rivers, Makayla Miller, Liam Scheer, Tucker Scheer, and Piper Scheer; two brothers-in-law: Grant (Marilyn) Scheer and Wally (Jean) Scheer; two sisters-in-law: Arlys (Earl) Johnson and Shirley (Stanley) Motchenbacker; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; Emil and Alma Brandt; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.   Visitation: Saturday, November 10, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Erhard, MN.
