Mark Edward Stokes

March 16, 1953 — February 18, 2022

Mark Edward Stokes passed away Friday, February 18th, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. 

Mark was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 16th, 1953 to Edward (Ned) and Gertrude (Nan) Stokes. After many adventures he settled in Duluth, MN where he met and married his bride of 44 years, Shawn Golden on January 28th, 1978. From their love came 10 children, and 21 grand-children.

While preceded in death by his parents and sister, Martha (Stokes) Schneider.

 

He was survived by his wife and 10 children: Hannah (Eric) Nordgren, Josh (Amy) Stokes, Elisha Stokes, Micah (Chelsea) Stokes, Isaiah (Shari) Stokes, Talitha (Matt) Satterlie, Elsa (Ben) Packa, Ezra Stokes, Amos Stokes, and Aviah Stokes; 21 grandchildren; brothers, David (Deb) Stokes and Frank (Kristy) Stokes; mother-in-law Diane (Gherkins) Golden; and large extended family. 

Celebration of Life: Visitation at 1:30-3:00 p.m. with service at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022, at New Hope For Families, Duluth, Minnesota with Pastor Joe Reed officiating.
