Margaret Lee, age 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at her residence in Pelican Rapids, MN.
Margaret Tweeton Lee was born in Detroit Lakes, MN on April 29, 1928, to parents Edward and Clara (Johnson) Tweeton.
She attended country school, Pelican Rapids High School, and Minnesota School of Business. She worked as a bank teller for First Federal in Minneapolis, and also as a cashier for Dayton’s in Minneapolis. This is where she met her husband Malcolm of 54 years.
She belonged to First Congregational Church where she taught Sunday School and worked at many events through the years. She also was a member of Pelican V.F.W. and volunteered for O.A.K.S.
Her favorite job was assistant librarian at Pelican Rapids High School where she worked for 23 years. She always enjoyed helping students with their projects.
She loved her family, books (lots of books!) and making yo-yo’s. She also loved being out in nature, especially at the family cabin on Lake Lizzie. She also loved her friends, some that she met on her many travels.
She is survived by her sons Tom (Kay) Lee, William Lee, and daughter Vanessa (Dave) Slotten; sister Lois Grina; grandchildren: Tanner Lee, Fargo, ND, Larisa Slotten, Longmont, CO, Erik Slotten, Fargo, ND, Nic Schmidt, Colorado Springs, CO, and Tanner (Hope) Schmidt, Fargo, ND; great-grandchildren: Tucker and Tegan Schmidt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband Malcolm, her parents, and infant sister.
A visitation will be held for Margaret on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Larson Funeral and Cremation Service of Pelican Rapids from 10 am to 11 am with memorial service at 11 am with a time of food and fellowship to follow.
