Irene Lewis

Irene Jeanette (Soberg) Lewis, 94, of Pelican Rapids, MN passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, surrounded by family, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls, MN.

Irene was born on June 20, 1931, to Thoralf and Bessie (Stephenson) Soberg. She was born and raised in Pelican Rapids.

On December 21, 1947, she married Grant (Bud) Lewis. They raised their two daughters, Lyne and Pam, in Crystal Lake, IL. After Bud retired they moved to Perham, MN.

Irene enjoyed her time on Prairie Lake near Pelican Rapids and at Mesa, AZ.

Her fondest childhood memories were fishing with her parents on Olaf Lake near Pelican, every Friday night. She enjoyed fishing, baking, sewing, music, cleaning and always helping others.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Harwood, grandson Justin Harwood and his children Olivia and Cameron, grandson Buck Soefker and his son Cody Soefker, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded by her parents, husband, daughter, Lyne, sons-in-law, Mike Harwood and Jim Soefker and all twelve of her siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held next summer, 2026. Inurnment will be at Northwest Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, MN.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made out to Faith Lutheran Church and Northwest Cemetery in Pelican Rapids, MN.
