Herman Beckman

Herman Beckman, 83, formerly of Erhard, MN died on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the Pelican Valley Senior Living in Pelican Rapids, MN. Herman Phillip was born at home near Erhard, MN on November 6, 1936 to Walter and Katherine (Bakke) Beckman. He attended country school District #17 through 8th grade. He entered the Army in April 1959 and was honorably discharged March 1961. Upon discharge from the Army he returned to the family farm. Herman played baseball on the Erhard Baseball Team. He was an avid sports fan. He followed all the local schools’ sports on radio. He was big fan of the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and shooting pool. Herman is survived by his brother Eugene (Linda) of Chisholm, MN, brother-in-law Merle Grossman, Pelican Rapids, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. Herman is preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, his sister Helen (Gerald) Ripley, his sister Lillian Grossman, his brother Kenneth (Eileen) Beckman, his brother Orville, nephew Alan Grossman and niece Susan (Ripley) Longfors. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Bagstevold Cemetery, rural Erhard, MN. Please keep the Beckman family in your thoughts and prayers.
