David Todd Pixley

On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the age of 53, David Todd Pixley died unexpectedly at his home in rural Pelican Rapids. David Pixley was born on November 13, 1967, in Moorhead, MN to Dale and Darlene (Samuelson) Pixley. He was baptized and confirmed at the First Congregational Church in Pelican Rapids. In 1986, David graduated from Pelican Rapids High School. On December 12, 1987, he was united in marriage with Julie Jacobson at the First Congregational Church in Pelican Rapids. Together they were blessed with one daughter, Jenna. On September 10, 1994, he was united in marriage with Darcy Colosky at St. Paul’s Loon Lake Lutheran Church in Vergas, MN, where he had become a member. Together they were blessed with four children: Dalton, Dakota, Danielle, and Daisha. Dave started his career in the drywall business by learning from and working with his father. He moved on to build his own successful business in the industry and passed that on to his oldest son, Dalton. In his free time, Dave enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, ice fishing, and attending classic car shows. He was always willing to help others with “projects” of any kind. Most of all, he will be remembered for the love he had for his family, his sweet treats, and his unforgettable laugh. His sense of humor was one of a kind and his friendly banter will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Darcy; children Jenna (Rodolfo) Nava, Dalton Pixley, Dakota (Kelsey) Pixley, Danielle Pixley, and Daisha Pixley; 4 grandchildren: Alexandrea, Izack, Avah, Emilia Nava; father Dale Pixley; grandmother Luella Meyer, brothers Daryl Pixley and Dan (Megan) Pixley; father and mother-in-law Donald and Dorothy Colosky; sisters-in-law Donna Colosky, Debra (Daniel) Weschler, Diane Colosky and; brothers-in-law: Dave (Pam) Colosky and Dan (Jill) Colosky; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Darlene; brother Doug; grandparents Les & Angie Pixley, Selvin Samuelson, and Don Meyer. Visitation and Memorial Service: Thursday, September 23, 2021 at St. Paul’s Loon Lake Lutheran Church, Vergas, MN with Pastor Del Stohs officiating. Visitation: 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. The funeral will be videotaped and be available to watch on our website after David's memorial service.
