Darlene Pixley

Darlene Pixley, 69, died on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at the Pelican Valley Health Center in Pelican Rapids, MN.  Memorial services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, December 29, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard, MN with Pastor Brad Soenksen officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the memorial service on Friday.  Darlene Jeanette Samuelson was born on March 2, 1948, to Selvin and Luella Samuelson in Fergus Falls, MN.  She grew to womanhood in Erhard, MN and attended school in Pelican Rapids.  She married Dale Pixley on January 23, 1965 in Pelican Rapids.  In the early years of their marriage, they made home in the Pelican Rapids area. In 1990, they moved to Moorhead, MN.  Darlene worked as a baker at NDSU for 20 years in the student union, retiring in 2010.  After retirement, they moved back to the Pelican Rapids area.  Darlene enjoyed crafts and making handmade greeting cards.  She also used her embroidery machine to make many special things for family and friends.  She and Dale loved to winter in the McAllen, Texas area.  She is survived by her husband Dale Pixley, Dent, MN, three children: David (Darcy) Pixley, Pelican Rapids, MN, Daryl (Shawna Kjensted) Pixley, Wolverton, MN, Daniel (Megan Harthun) Pixley, Dent, MN; daughter-in-law Shelly Pixley, Farmington, MN; her mother Luella Meyer, Fergus Falls, MN, 10 grandchildren:  Jenna (Scooby) Nava, Dalton, Dakota, Danielle, Daisha Pixley, Cassie (Sam) Klovstad, Cody, Leigha, Christopher (Callie), and Mariah Pixley, six great grandchildren: Lexi, Izack, Avah, Emilia, Kloe, Kayson, and Eleanor, five siblings: Annette (Richard) Westby, Pelican Rapids, MN, LeRoy (Mary) Samuelson, Fargo, ND, Gary (Sue) Samuelson, Underwood, MN, Roger (Cheryl) Samuelson, Moorhead, MN, Rachel (Jeff) Anderson, Fergus Falls, MN, sister in law Sue Nelson, Ellensburg, WA, brother in law James (Karen) Pixley, Pelican Rapids, MN, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her son Doug Pixley, father Selvin Samuelson, nephew Eric Samuelson, and step father Don Meyer.  Darlene's Memorial Folder
