Dale Lyden

Dale Lyden, age 80, of Fergus Falls, MN formerly of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Thursday, September 20, 2018 at PioneerCare Center, Fergus Falls, MN. Dale Elmer Lyden was born November 1, 1937 in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Elmer and Emma (Hegge) Lyden. He was baptized and confirmed at Central Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids.  He attended school in Pelican Rapids, graduating from Pelican Rapids High School. On August 16, 1958 Dale married Jane E. Lerbakken at South Immanuel Lutheran Church. They were blessed with four children.  Dale farmed and worked for Carlson Turkey Farm.  They moved from the home farm into Pelican Rapids in 1982.  Jane Lyden passed away in 1990.  On September 19, 1992 Dale married Marilyn Grant.  Marilyn Lyden passed away in 2012. Dale was a lifetime member of Central Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He leaves to mourn his passing: his children, Rick Lyden, Tammy (Tim) Tarnowski and Teresa Hanley; stepchildren: Randy (Leann) Grant, Jerome (Jan) Grant, Roxy (Bryan) Mortenson; one sister-in-law, Delores Lyden; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dale is preceded in death by his parents; Jane, Marilyn, one daughter Twila Mahlum, stepson Joel Grant, brother Richard Lyden, two sisters: Corean (Lester Guida and Ray Anderson), and Arlene (Virgil) Holt.   Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Central Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.
