Curtis Nelson

Curtis Nels Nelson, age 83, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Monday, January 1, 2018 at his residence. Curtis was born September 12, 1934 in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Magnus and Signe (Peterson) Nelson. He was baptized and confirmed at Central Lutheran Church.  He attended school at District 156 South near Pelican Rapids.  Curtis farmed with his dad from 1948 to 1951 then was self-employed from 1952 to 1955. On September 15, 1956 he was united in marriage to Darlene Forsgren and to this union 8 children were born.  He drove truck for Duane Farnam for many years and then drove truck for Dave Sabin until his retirement. On May 19, 1978 he married Kathy Allen and to this union Cindy and Mindy were born. He enjoyed raising cattle, visiting with family and friends, and driving truck. He is survived by his wife Kathy; children: Brian (Carol) Nelson, Greg (Robyn) Nelson, Vonnie (Larry) Bennett, Brad Nelson, Bruce (Kay) Nelson, Kevin Nelson, Wes (Michelle Falk) Nelson, Julie (Lyle) Jones, Cindy (Bobby) Davidson, Mindy (Brad) Sachs, Peggy Drake, Stuart Drake; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Keith; sister, Marilyn.   Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 8, 2018, at Central Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.  Visitation: Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
