Adam Pixley

Adam James Pixley, age 35, of Pelican Rapids, MN died Thursday evening, December 20, 2018, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes. Adam was born on August 31, 1983, to Jim and Karen Pixley in Fergus Falls, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids.  Adam graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 2002 and also attended technical school. Adam worked in drywall, helping his father with his drywall business for a few years - his father remarked on how good he was at doing drywall. Adam later switched to working for other drywall companies until his death.  Adam was known as an intelligent, helpful, witty and humorous individual who was always fun to be around. One of the things he enjoyed most was spending time with his many friends around the area. He loved the outdoors and his friends would tell you all the memorable stories of camping, hunting, fishing, and snowboarding that were had.  In his early years and beyond, Adam enjoyed going to the range with his father and spending time with family and friends at the lake cabin jetskiing and by the bonfire. He was part of the softball league in Erhard, Minnesota and also enjoyed a good game of golf - music was also a passion of his from an early age. He enjoyed going to summer music concerts with his family and friends. He deeply loved his family and friends and also enjoyed being around kids, he had the patience to entertain them for hours. His family remarked on how much of a great dad he would have been.  Adam’s final act was to give the gift of life through eye and tissue donation. Adam was deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed always, but long remembered by great stories, an empathetic personality and the adoration of his friends and family.  Hug your children today in his memory, memory eternal.  He is survived by his parents, Jim and Karen; older sister, Sarah; Grandma Donna; Uncle Dale Pixley, Aunt Sue Nelson and her partner, Jim; Uncle Everett and Aunt Mary Johnson; along with several cousins, and many more friends who were like family; loyal dog, Ruger; and loving cat, Leo. He was preceded in death by his Grandpa and Grandma Pixley, Grandpa Omer Johnson, Aunt Darlene Pixley, and cousin Doug Pixley. Visitation: Friday, December 28, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota with Pastor Allen Westby and Pastor Scott Block officiating.   Please keep the Pixley and Johnson family in your thoughts and prayers.
