Calmer "Kelly" Mostue

Calmer "Kelly" Ernest Mostue was born November 8, 1926, in Maplewood Township, rural Erhard, MN, the son of Mathias and Gina (Lyngstad) Mostue. He was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church, on Franklin Lake, near Pelican Rapids. He was raised in the Erhard and Detroit Lakes area. Kelly went to school at District 187 (Ruggs school) rural Erhard and country school Joint l, rural Detroit Lakes. He lived most of his adult life in the Pelican and Erhard area except for a few years he lived in Pengilly, MN, and cut pulpwood. Kelly worked for Merlin Bengstson well drilling and he also worked for farmers in the area.He loved taking pictures with his Polaroid camera of everyone he met and putting the pictures in his albums. Kelly loved old time country music and remaking old cars into pickups. Kelly's favorite Home Sweet Home was his little house by County Road 3. He was so proud of his yard, garden, and flowers. He also loved his little dog, Blackie. For the past 5 years, he has lived at the Good Samaritan Center where he received excellent care. Ke11y be greatly missed by his family and friends.Kelly, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Center in Pelican Rapids.Kelly is survived by a brother, Harvey of Erhard; three sisters: Norma Helgeson of Erhard, Nora Kugler of Fergus Falls, MN, and Myrtle Gorden of Keewatin, MN; many nieces and nephews. Kelly is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gladys and Durwood Phillips; two brothers: Phyllix and Dorothy Mostue, and Gordon Mostue; four brothers-in-law: Oscar Peasley, Harry Kugler, Clarence Helgeson, Stanley Gorden; and sister-in-law, Adeline Mostue.Blessed Be The Memory Of Calmer "Kelly" Mostue
