Miranda Lahlum

Miranda Lahlum, age 93, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at MeritCare in Fargo, North Dakota.Miranda Clarissa Evenson was born August 16, 1914, in Wilkin County, northwest of Pelican Rapids, MN. She was the third child out of ten born to Edward and Christine (Haughtvedt) Evenson. Miranda was confirmed at West North Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Pelican Rapids. After farming in Rothsay for several years, Miranda moved to Pelican Rapids and was a lifetime resident. On April 25, 2007 Miranda entered the Pelican Valley Nursing Home.Miranda loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, canning and gardening. Miranda will be remembered for always having the coffee pot on. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.Miranda is survived by her 3 children: Eldon (Delores) Lahlum of Roseville, MN; Curtis (Karen) Lahlum of Pelican Rapids, MN; and Vern Lahlum of Pampa, TX; a son-in-law, Walter Olson of Barnesville, MN; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 6 siblings: Ernest Evenson of Pelican Rapids, MN; Mildred Honrud of Moorhead, MN; Roy (Janis) Evenson of Pelican Rapids, MN; Hazel Hutchinson of San Gabriel, CA; Garnet (Deloris) Evenson of Lake Park, MN; and Arvid Evenson of Pelican Rapids, MN; numerous nieces and nephews; and longtime family and friend, Jack Miller of Pampa, TX, and Mary Hanneman of Yukon, OK. Miranda was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Christine Evenson; daughter, Joan Olson; son, Clayton Lahlum; 2 grandchildren: Walter Olson and Randy Olson; and 3 sisters: Inga Julsrud, Lenora Dalager and Vivian McArdell.Blessed Be The Memory Of Miranda Lahlum
