Lois Jacobson, age 81, a resident of Pelican Rapids, MN, died on Sunday, December 14, 2008, at the Pelican Valley Nursing Home in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Lois Anna Carlson was born April 18, 1927 to Charles CT and Emma (Kading) Carlson who farmed in Lida township.After her fathers death in 1929, she and her sister, Lorraine, were raised by their mother on the Lida township farm.She attended country school, district 108, and Pelican Rapids High School.On March 26, 1944 she was united in marriage with Alvar Jacobson at the St. Pauls Loon Lake parsonage in Vergas, Minnesota.Lois and Alvar operated a dairy farm in Maplewood township for thirty years.This farm was sold to the state of Minnesota and became part of Maplewood State Park.While moving to a different farm in Lida township, her husband was killed in a farm accident in August of 1974.She moved to Pelican Rapids the following year and lived in town the rest of her life.Lois worked as a dietary aid at the Pelican Valley Hospital and Nursing Home for several years.She also worked part-time for the Pelican Rapids school district in the elementary school cafeteria.She later volunteered as a driver for the Otter Tail County Social Services for nearly ten years.After selling her Pelican Rapids home she moved to the Mill Pond apartments in 2004.Lois is survived by her daughter, Debra (Dale) Neuman, Saginaw, MN; two sons: Charles (Amy) Jacobson, Albany, Oregon and Larry (Jane) Jacobson, New Brighton, MN; sister, Lorraine Williams, Pelican Rapids; 7 grandchildren: Alan Jacobson, Brian Jacobson, Christine McGowan, Danielle Neuman, Gennie Neuman, Karl Jacobson, and Kurt Jacobson; 3 great-grandchildren, Alisa, Grace, and Ashlee; and numerous nieces and nephews.Lois was preceded in death by her parents and husband.Blessed Be The Memory of Lois Jacobson
