Arlyne Grunewald

Arlyne Grunewald, age 81, a resident of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.Arlyne Clarice Toso was born February 18, 1928, in Rothsay, Minnesota, the daughter of Alfred and Clara (Froslie) Toso.Arlyne was baptized at South Immanuel Lutheran Church and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, both in Rothsay. She grew up and attended schools in the area.On November 9, 1947, Arlyne was united in marriage to Herbert F. Grunewald at South Immanuel Lutheran Church.They resided in Rothsay for several years and the Fergus Falls area.Later, they moved to Sabin, then Moorhead. Arlyne worked for Hornbachers and American Crystal Sugar Company in Moorhead. She retired in 1985, she and Herb then moved to Pittsburg, Texas, residing on Bob Sandlin Lake.Later they returned to Minnesota living in the Pelican Rapids area.In May of 2008, Arlyne and Herb moved to Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.Arlyne enjoyed planting flowers, reading, camping, dancing, traveling and loved all children - taking special delight in her grandchildren.Arlyne is survived by her husband, Herb; son, Jeffrey (Barb) Grunewald, Pelican Rapids, MN; daughter, Jacalyn (Steven) Larson, Flower Mound, TX; one grandson, Shane Grunewald, Eden Prairie, MN; two granddaughters: Tiffany Grunewald, Chicago, IL, and Kendall Larson, Flower Mound, TX; three sisters:Gladys Velo and Ruby Danielson, Fargo, ND, Betty Nettestad, Moorhead, MN; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Clara; sister, Viola Martinson; three brothers: Morris, Clifford, and Curtis; and one niece, CharMayne.Memorials are preferred to: Emmanuel Nursing Home, 1415 Madison Avenue, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota,56501Blessed Be The Memory Of Arlyne Grunewald
