Harriet Engebretson, age 85, a resident of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, formerly of Fargo, North Dakota, died on Friday, January 1, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.Harriet Irene Grant was born April 16, 1924, in Kindred, North Dakota, the daughter of Melvin and Leva (Myhre) Grant.She attended public school and graduated from Kindred High School in 1942. After high school, she attended business school in Wahpeton, North Dakota.As a young woman, she worked as a bookkeeper at Gate City Savings in Fargo. She married Clyde Engebretson on April 8, 1947, in Kindred. They lived in Fargo until 1962, when they moved to Mandan, North Dakota. There, they purchased and operated the Mandan Dental Lab where Harriet did the bookkeeping until retiring in 1986.She also worked as a tax preparer during tax season.Clyde preceded Harriet in death in 1993.Harriet enjoyed spending the winter months in Mesa, Arizona, and the summer months at Lake Lizzie near Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, where she loved working at Karens Korner gift store.Harriet always loved being with family and friends and allowed no lull in a conversation.Harriet is survived by her three children: Rebecca (Bill) Fish, Shorewood, MN, Cathy (Tom) Sitter, Bismarck, ND, Robert (Deb) Engebretson, Medina, MN; six grandchildren: Aimee (Steve), Ryan (Kristy), Matt, Paul (Sarah), Erik, Kira; four great-grandchildren: Kieran, Halle, Taya, Emma; one sister, Lorraine (Ilert) Spelhaug, Fargo, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; granddaughter, Laurie Vukelich; and son in-law, Chuck Vukelich.Blessed Be The Memory Of Harriet Engebretson
