Dennis Evenson, age 60, a resident of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at his home.Dennis Everett Evenson was born December 29, 1949, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, the son of Ernest and Olga (Anderson) Evenson.Dennis was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids.He graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1968.For a few years he worked at West Central Turkey, Inc. in Pelican Rapids.In 1974, he was united in marriage to Sandy Ives in Minneapolis, Minnesota; they were married for 15 years. While living in Minneapolis, Dennis worked for several years at Savoie Supply Co. He was presently a custodian at the University of Minnesota in Printing Services, where he worked for 29 years.Dennis enjoyed cooking, canning, and making mints for friends and special occasions.Some of his fondest memories were his camping trips in his younger years with his family.Dennis loved to dance and listen to old-time music, especially polka. He played violin and accordion with family and friends.Dennis loved to fish, go to the casino, play bingo, and be present at bonfires.He will be missed by his favorite pet, Buttercup.Dennis was known for his caring ways.Everyone loved Dennis whether young or old relative, friend, or an acquaintance.He loved to visit and would pick up a conversation even if it was with a stranger.He had a great sense of humor.Dennis leaves behind his beloved daughter, Nikki.He was a loving companion to Lois for many years.Dennis is survived by his daughter, Nicole Evenson, Coon Rapids, MN; father, Ernest Evenson, Pelican Rapids, MN; siblings:Dave (Deanna) Evenson, Perham, MN, Kerry Evenson, Pelican Rapids, MN, and Karen (Steve) Jaschke, St. Cloud, MN; special friend, Lois Hines; aunts, uncles and 12 nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother, Olga.Blessed Be The Memory Of Dennis Evenson
