Louis Kowalski, age 82, a resident of rural Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at his residence.Louis Kenneth Kowalski was born September 20, 1928, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, the son of Lawrence and Nina (Zellman) Kowalski.Louis graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1947.On October 9, 1952, Louis was united in marriage to Norma Mohagen at St. Leonards Catholic Church in Pelican Rapids.Louis was a dairy farmer until he retired.Norma preceded him in death on November 19, 2007.Louis was a lifetime member of St. Leonards Catholic Church.He was active in the Knights of Columbus and the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion in Rollag, where he annually displayed his horse-drawn stone puller.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, coin collecting, and telling a good story.Louis is survived by his children:Cheryl (John) Ross, Maple Plain, MN, Gary (Roberta) Kowalski, Pelican Rapids, MN, Tim Kowalski, Fargo, ND, Kevin (Edie) Kowalski, Fergus Falls, MN, and Karen Kowalski, Fergus Falls, MN; 13 grandchildren:Scott and Travis Ross, Paul, Mark, and Anna Kowalski, Christopher, Kelsey, and Marissa Kowalski, Brandon, Andrew, Daniel, and Sarah Kowalski, and Anthony Hensel; a great-granddaughter, Alivia Kowalski; sisters, Margaret Thorpe, Rothsay, MN, and Evelyn (Ellis) Olsen, Vancleave, MS; brother-in-law, Roger (Marianne) Mohagen, Roseville, MN; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Nina; his wife, Norma; son, Michael; grandson, Mathew; and brother-in-law, Gene Thorpe.Blessed Be The Memory Of Louis Kowalski
