Marla Wischnack, age 70, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at her residence.Marla Kaye Ott was born August 29, 1940, in Star Lake Township, rural Dent, Minnesota, the daughter of Clarence and Ida (Lange) Ott. She was raised there attending country school and Perham High School. She then attended Fergus Falls Community College for two years and later attended Moorhead State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. Prior to her marriage, Marla worked at the Lake Park Wild Rice Children's Home for thirteen years. On October 2, 1976, she was united in marriage to Herb Wischnack at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dent. They established their home in Pelican Rapids and for the last twenty-five years she worked at the Good Samaritan Center. Marla was currently attending Christ Community Church in Pelican Rapids and was a former member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church until it closed. Marla had a great love for people, especially the elderly and children. It can easily be stated that she never met anyone she considered a stranger. Her children and grandchildren were very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. Marla's faith was also a very important part of her life and she always tried to do what was right.She will be dearly missed by her husband, Herb; sons, Greg Wischnack of Moorhead, Minnesota, Mike (Cindy) Wischnack of New York Mills, Minnesota, Herb (Kristi) Wischnack, Jr. of Topeka, Kansas, and Daniel Wischnack of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota; daughter, Michele (Willie Hegna) Ford of Madrid, Iowa; grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica, Justin, Brighton, Brenndan, Reanna, Teagan, Jacob and Zack; great-grandson, Aiden; sisters, LaVina Miller of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and Helen (Don) Stoering of Dent, Minnesota; brother, Maynard Ott of Battle Lake, Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Clareen Neu and Betty Ott; and brothers, Jacob Ott and Clinton Ott.
