Florence Eunice Haugrud

Florence Haugrud, age 88, a resident of Pelican Rapids, MN, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Society in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Florence Haugrud was born August 6, 1923, near Rothsay, Minnesota, the daughter of Lars and Mathilda (Arneklev) Trosvik. She was baptized and confirmed at South Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rothsay. Florence attended country school near Rothsay and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in l941. In 1943 Florence was united in marriage with Oliver Haugrud at the South Immanuel parsonage near Rothsay, Minnesota. Florence and Oliver farmed together on the Haugrud family farm. On July 2, 2008 Florence entered Good Samaritan Society in Pelican Rapids. Oliver died October 3, 2008.Florence enjoyed canning, baking and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren.She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, ladies aid and circle. Florence also enjoyed her homemakers group and the 4-H Club. Florence is survived by her sons: Mark Haugrud and Bruce (Kim) Haugrud, both of Pelican Rapids; daughter: DeMaris Nelson, Fridley, MN; daughter-in-law: Ellen Haugrud, Pelican Rapids; sisters: Leola Velo, Pelican Rapids, MN, Gladys (Lloyd) Ouse, Rothsay, MN, Rose Hanson, Wolverton, MN; brothers: Earl (Jane) Trosvik, Pelican Rapids, MN, Sylvester (Joyce) Trosvik, Rothsay, MN; three grandchildren: Keith (Mary) Haugrud, Brenda (Mike) Olson, and Afton Nelson; three great-grandchildren: Liv Haugrud, Oliver Haugrud, and Thea Olson; sister-in-law: Florence Hansen, Pelican Rapids; and numerous nieces and nephews.Florence was preceded in death by her husband: Oliver; son, Rodney; brothers: Art, Melvin, Orville; sister: Margaret Scheer and infant sister Adeline; five brothers-in-law, Herbert, Morris, Raymond, Arnold, and Harold; two sisters-in-law; Mamie Eickstad and Violet Kuester.Funeral Home:Larson Funeral Home304 3rd Street S.E.Pelican Rapids, MNUS 56572
