Floyd Dalman, age 86, a resident of rural Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Monday, May 14, 2012 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Floyd Arlington Dalman was born May 18, 1925 in Dunn Township the son of Alfred and Lydia (Nelson) Dalman. He attended country school in Dunn Township. Floyd married Marie Humbert and they lived in Dunn Township where they were blessed with three children. During Floyd's life he worked at various jobs such as ice harvester, horse logger, sheep shearer, carpenter, and farmer. Floyd always loved to cut wood. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, hunting, especially, deer hunting and playing the chromatic accordion (with buttons). One of Floyd's greatest joys was spending time with his family.Floyd was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marie Dalman of rural Pelican Rapids; two sons: Robert (Gloria Erickson) Dalman, Pelican Rapids, Randy (Pamela) Dalman, Pelican Rapids, and daughter Norma (Elmer) Wald of Pelican Rapids; nine grandchildren: Shane Wiedewitsch, Dawn (Al) Sazama, Steven (Cassie) Dalman, Matthew Dalman, Mike Dalman, Nathan Dalman, Jonathan Dalman, Jason (Michelle) Wald, and Jessica (Jason) Fahje; eleven great-grandchildren: Ellie, Sam, Zach, Tristan, Tianna, Molly, Sophie, Greyson, Logan, Ian, and Colin; sister Vera Wander, Moorhead; brothers-in-law: Lawrence (Evelyn) Humbert, Fergus Falls, MN and Kenneth (Donna) Humbert, Galion, OH; sister-in-law Joyce Hill, Peoria, IL; and many nieces and nephews.Floyd is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Carl, Eric (Lois), Walfred (Jeannie), Gust (Ethelyn); two sisters: Lorraine (Charles) Grobe and Lillian (Norman) Schirmer; and brother-in-law John Wander.Memorial Gathering: Will be one hour prior to the service at Zion Lutheran Church.Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Clergy: Pastor Dale Pepelnjak Burial: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, MinnesotaOnline Guestbook: www.larsonfuneralpelicanrapids.comPallbearers are Stephen Dalman, Matthew Dalman, Mike Dalman, Nathan Dalman, Jonathan Dalman, and Jason WaldHonorary pallbearers are his great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; friends: Glen Larson, Herb Johnson, and Jerry HaugenFuneral Home:Larson Funeral Home304 3rd Street S.E.Pelican Rapids, MNUS 56572
