Raymond Jensen, age 84, a resident of rural Pelican Rapids, Minnesota died at his home, Monday, May 28, 2012.Raymond Wallace Jensen was born October 11, 1927 in Elbow Lake, Minnesota, the son of William and Mary Randi (Windom) Jensen. He was united in marriage to Doris Anderson in Henning, Minnesota, on November 10, 1947. Doris died January 18, 1972. Raymond Jensen wore many hats and had many titles. He began working as a forest ranger 1944 leaving to serve in the U. S. Navy on the U.S.S. Hornet during World War II. In 1946 he returned to his forest ranger position, and then transferring to the U. S. Fisheries until 1960. Ray received his pilots' license in 1951 and flew until 1995, often assisting the Ottertail County Sheriff's Office and the Fergus Falls Police Department. On September 2, 1975, Ray and Lorraine (Schleske) Osborne were united in marriage.As a Minnesota Conservation Law Enforcement Officer, starting his career in November 1960, Ray was named Officer of the Year in 1987. While a conservation officer he was also a Field Training Officer. He retired from service in July 1997. Ray was a Firearms Safety Instructor, Snowmobile & ATV Safety Instructor, Explosives Certified, Advanced Hunter Education Instructor, worked with the 4-H, Boy Scouts, FFA and for twenty years he was a Webaloes leader. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, life member of V.F.W. and American Legion, the Shriners International, life member of Ottertail Lodge 284, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite of Freemason including Past Master twice and received the Hiram Award.Ray was a loyal husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and teacher. He cherished time with family above all.Ray is survived by his wife, Lorraine, Pelican Rapids, MN; sons: Ron (Diane) Jensen, Pelican Rapids, MN, Richard (Jeanette) Jensen, West Fargo, ND; Rodney (Jodi) Jensen, Fergus Falls, MN; step-children Bill (Eileen) Osborne, Pelican Rapids, MN, Pamella (Steve) Reed, Lewiston, CA, Jeanette Osborne, Pelican Rapids, Dorathy (Oren Eide) Cusey, Dent, MN, Barry (Melissa) Osborne, Brainerd, MN, John (Kristen) Osborne, Detroit Lakes, MN, Serrina Huss, Fargo, ND; daughter-in-law Colleen Jensen, Molt, MT; brothers: Orville Jensen, Henning, MN, Roy (Norma) Jensen, Moorhead, MN; sister-in-law: Nellie Jenson, Fergus Falls, MN; twenty-two grandchildren: Michele Jensen (Jawaan Collins), Jessica (Alan) Hoeper, Kirk Jensen (Peggy Sauvegeau), Jordan Aaberg, Shane Osborne (Chrissy Buth), Erica (Mike) Christianson, Jeremy Osborne (Rachel Wilson), Kelly (Andrew) Evenson, Danielle (Daniel) Wisniewski, Michael Peters Jr, Vanessa Cusey, Matthew, Charlotte, Mike and Jess Church, Maxim, Atticus and Silas Osborne, Emma and Jack Osborne, Alexander Jensen and Otto Huss; five great-grandchildren: Shantell Gnahn, Ava and Daryn Evenson, Hannah and Henry Hoeper; his poodle and constant companion, Rascal. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; son, Randy; grandsons, Dane Jensen, Jesse Osborne, Spencer Church; granddaughter, Elizabeth Osborne; great-granddaughter, Madison McLean; brothers, Ivan, James and William "Bill"; sister, Mildred Ladwig; and his poodle and good friend, P.B.Visitation: Thursday, May 31, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.
