Elaine Lois Grefsrud

Elaine Lois Grefsrud, age 71, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Essentia Health St. Mary's, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Elaine Lois (Ronngren) Grefsrud was born September 21, 1940, the daughter of Arnold and Emma (Baanna) Ronngren in Jamestown, North Dakota. Following graduation from Barnesville, MN High School she attended business school in Fargo, ND, later attending Fergus Falls Community College, Fergus Falls, MN. In 1959 Elaine was united in marriage to Gerald Grefsrud. They farmed in Rural Rothsay, MN. In 1985 they moved to Pelican Rapids, MN. Elaine worked for the Rothsay School District, Birkholz Northside, ECI, Woolworths, Herbergers and Ace Hardware. Elaine was a member of South Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rothsay, MN, where she was active in Ladies Aid and WELCA. Elaine was also active in community service, V.F.W. Auxiliary and Good Sam Auxiliary. She enjoyed ceramics, painting, writing and playing cards.She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gerald; son, David Grefsrud, Savage, MN; daughter, Bonnie (Steve) Egge, Pelican Rapids, MN; grandchildren, Mitchell and Madison Egge, Dominic, Michael and Christopher Grefsrud; brother, Donald (Ileen) Ronngren, Pelican Rapids, MN; sisters: Dorothy (Dennis) Dunham, Ulen, MN and Donna Oyama, Bennington, Vermont; brothers-in-law: Keith Grefsrud, Roger (Gina) Grefsrud; sister-in-law, Anita (Roger) Klamm..Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, son, Ken, and brother-in-law, Alvin Oyama. sister-in-law, Dian Grefsrud. Visitation: Sunday, September 23, 2012, 4:00-6:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN.
