H Marion Johnson

H. Marion Johnson, age 86, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at Pelican Valley Nursing Home, Pelican Rapids. Helen Marion Svare was born May 3, 1926 in Pelican Rapids, the daughter of John and Hansena (Peterson) Svare. She was confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, MN. During World War II Marion's family moved to Seattle, WA. Later the family moved back and farmed near Rollag, MN. Marion was united in marriage to E. Harvey Johnson on October 3, 1948 at Bethel Lutheran Church.In 1955 the family moved to Anoka, MN, moving back to Erhard in 1965. Along with raising her family, Marion took care of her mother for several years. Harvey died May, 1992. Marion was a member of Central Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, where she was active in the ladies aid and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed gardening and being with her family.She is survived by her sons: Lester (Rhonda) Johnson and Philip (Teresa) Johnson, Erhard, MN; her daughter, Kathy (Jeff Burley) Johnson, Erhard, MN; grandchildren: Amy Mortenson, Steven Mortenson, Dacia Johnson, Payton Johnson; great-grandchildren: Shania Moen and Jayden Spilde; brother: Harley (Margaret) Svare, Cheyenne, WY; sisters: Lorraine Murray, Fargo, ND, Shirley Pepmeier, Cheyenne, WY, Phyllis Bigner, Fargo, ND and Patsy (Earl) Lindsay, Fargo, ND; sisters-in-law, June Johnson and Louise Svare; and numerous nieces and nephews.Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Wallace, and infant sister, Lillian.
