Loraine Winnifred Berg

Loraine Winnifred Berg, age 88, of Pelican Rapids, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Pelican Valley Health Center, Pelican Rapids, MN.Loraine was born August 23, 1924, in Grand Forks, ND, to Alfred and Mamie Berg. She attended high school in Grand Forks, ND, and graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a degree in Elementary Education. She worked several years as a teacher in New Mexico public schools and Christian Education in Garden Grove, CA. Loraine was an avid cat lover and enjoyed reading in her spare time. Loraine was married in 1949 to Millard Mickelson in Detroit Lakes, MN.She is preceded in death by her brother, Gene (Bud) Berg and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Mickelson of Pelican Rapids; son, David (Anne) Mickelson of Stillwater, MN; brother, Leroy (Mickey) Berg of Detroit Lakes; sister, Francis (Charles) Scheel of Clinton, WA, and many nephews and nieces.Visitation: One hour prior to the service at Trinity Lutheran Church.Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Burial: Ringsaker Cemetery, Rural Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Funeral Home: Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MinnesotaOnline Guestbook: www.larsonfuneralpelicanrapids.com
