Jean Clauson

Jean Kathryn Erickson was born on January 13, 1925 at home near Pelican Rapids, the daughter of Carl and Olivia (Siggerud) Erickson. She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1942. On October 27, 1946 Jean was united in marriage to Raymond Clauson on the Siggerud farm in rural Pelican Rapids. Jean and Ray farmed their entire life near Pelican Rapids. After 61 years of marriage, Ray died on December 21, 2007 at the Pelican Valley Nursing Home in Pelican Rapids.Jean enjoyed quilting, dancing, gardening, playing board games, playing cards, watching Wheel of Fortune. One of Jean's favorite meals was lutefisk. She attended the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion in Rollag. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.Jean was an active member of Grove Lake Lutheran Church being involved with ladies aid, church circle, church council, and a Sunday school teacher. Jean Kathryn (Erickson) Clauson, age 88, a resident of Pelican Rapids, MN, died on November 26, 2013 at Pelican Valley Nursing Home in Pelican Rapids.Jean is survived by her daughter, Cindy Baggenstos, Pelican Rapids; 2 granddaughters: Missy (Allen) Poncelet, Akeley, MN and Maren (Jerry) Howe, Vergas, MN: 3 great-granddaughters: Alyson, Alexis and Lechia; sister, Marian Kruger, Ponte Verdra, FL; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in law and many nieces and nephews.Jean is preceded in death by her husband Raymond; son-in-law, Robert Baggenstos; brothers: Willmer, James, Carlton, and Robert; sisters: Evelyn, Olive, and Harriet.Visitation: Sunday-December 1, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN, with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at Grove Lake Lutheran Church.Service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2013 at Grove Lake Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Clergy: Pastor Jeff McCrackenBurial: South Grove Lake Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Funeral Home:Larson Funeral Home304 3rd Street S.E.Pelican Rapids, MNUS 56572
