Ronald Edward Berg was born March 8, 1943 in Anoka MN, the son of Jack and Elsie (Waldeen) Berg. In 1961, Ronald graduated from Anchorage High School in Alaska. After high school, Ron attended Purdue University graduating with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. Then he attended the University of Utah earning his Master's degree in Business Administration. On November 23, 1968 Ronald was united in marriage to Dianne Swanson in Big Lake, MN. For 13 years Ron was employed with Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan as a marketing analyst. After his employment with Dow Chemical, Ron worked as an engineer in Minnesota. Ronald and Dianne moved to Pelican Rapids where Ron was employed until 2009 at Sunrise Machine & Tool in Detroit Lakes. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, tying flies and downhill skiing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Ronald was a unique sports fan cheering for both Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers. Ronald will be remembered for his ability to visualize and develop his thoughts into inventions.Ronald was a member of Central Lutheran Church.Ronald Berg, age 70, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota died, Monday, December 16, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota.He is survived by his wife, Dianne, of Pelican Rapids, MN; son, Ryan (Kerrie) Berg with their children: Caden, Carly and Claire; son, Eric (Erica) Berg with their children: Laila, Jaxon and Campbell all from Moorhead, MN: aunts: Amy (Ed) Larson and Verna Bartholow; brothers and sisters-in-law: Shirley Anderson, Kenneth Swanson, Dennis (Vera) Swanson, Marvin (Sherry) Swanson, Orville (Anne) Swanson, Barbara (Jack) Leeman and numerous nieces and nephews.Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, LaVerne (Marty) Govednik and Brother-in-law Duane AndersonVisitation: One hour prior to the service at the churchService: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Central Lutheran Church, near Pelican Rapids, MNClergy: Pastor Kris GordenFuneral Home:Larson Funeral Home304 3rd Street S.E.Pelican Rapids, MNUS 56572
