Ethel L (Rawalt) Skistad, age 98, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, formerly of Fargo, ND, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 in Gulf Breeze, Florida.Ethel, daughter of Harry and Maie (Burt) Rawalt was born November 25, 1915 in Fargo, ND, where she grew up and graduated from Fargo Central High School. On June 7, 1941 she married Arnold Skistad. Arnold and Ethel farmed in the Fergus Falls, MN area before moving to Fargo, ND. Ethel worked at NDSU for several years before she and her husband moved to Gulf Breeze, FL in 1967. After moving to Florida, Ethel worked in the records department at the Medical Center Clinic in Pensacola, Florida until she retired. Ethel and her husband, Arnold, were faithful members of the Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church.Ethel enjoyed being active in the community, enjoying activities such as bowling and playing cards, especially Hearts. She also enjoyed Dominos, Bingo and playing music for her Gulf Breeze Court Yard friends.Ethel is survived by two sons, Warren (Judy) Skistad, Madison Lake, MN, Lee (Charlotte) Skistad, Fountain Hills, AZ: daughter, Cheryl Corbari, Gulf Breeze, FL; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.Ethel is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold, brother, Lloyd Rawalt, sister-in-law Clarice Rawalt, twin sister, Alice Butenhoff, brother-in-law Leonard "Butch" Butenhoff, son-in-law Franco Corbari and nephew Dave Butenhoff.Ethel's family would like to sincerely thank the staff at The Gulf Breeze Court Yard Assisted Living facility and Dr. Ken Long for the compassionate care they provided to Ethel.In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials to South Friborg Cemetery, Carlisle Association.Memorial Service: 11:00a.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Grove Lake Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, MNClergy: Pastor Jeff McCrackenBurial: South Friborg Cemetery, Carlisle, MinnesotaFuneral Home:Larson Funeral Home304 3rd Street S.E.Pelican Rapids, MNUS 56572
