Marjorie Schenatzki, 83, of Pelican Rapids, died on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Pelican Valley Health Center. Memorial services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the First Congregational Church in Pelican Rapids with Pastor Jen Sandstrom officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, MN. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Tuesday, September 30, at Larson Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Marjorie Ann Freeman was born on March 19, 1931 to Leigh and Mabel (Peterson) Freeman in Fargo, ND. She grew up in Fargo and graduated from Central High School. Marge worked a few different jobs as a teenager but there was one that was her favorite at the Dutch Maid ice cream parlor in down town Fargo, because that is where she meet her soul-mate Edward D. Schenatzki. She was united in marriage to him on July 12, 1949. They made their home in Fargo for almost 30 years, where she stayed at home to raise their 8 children. After they had all grown she started a home Daycare business.In 1978, the family moved to Prairie Lake near Pelican Rapids, MN where they resided until 2008, when Ed and Marge moved into town. For several years, Marge worked at the Senior Citizen Center of Pelican Rapids as the supervisor. She also worked as a Census supervisor in 1990 and 2000. Marge was good with her hands. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and embroidery. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Pelican Rapids and active with the ladies. Marge also enjoyed picking up a good book and reading. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ed, of Pelican Rapids, MN, six children: Anne Schenatzki of Fargo, Connie Schenatzki of Fargo, Eileen (Steve) Harvala of St. Louis Park, MN, Jim (Renae) Schenatzki of Mandan, ND, Sandy (Paul) Hermann, of Fergus Falls, Lois (Larry) Nelson of Fergus Falls, nine grandchildren: Elizabeth Schenatzki, Amanda (Matt) Seifert, James Harvala, Bill (Jessie) Hilfer, Leigh Schenatzki, John Hermann, Timothy Hermann, Rachel Hermann, Kim Nelson, 10 great grandchildren: one sister Peggy (Morris) Andersen, Hamilton, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons: Michael and Steven Schenatzki, one grandson Michael Schenatzki, her parents, three sisters: Edna Robbins, Ethel Monson, Gerri Freeman, five brothers: Walter, Charles, Richard, Neil, and Norman Freeman and numerous nieces and nephews.
