LeRoy Haugrud, age 84, a resident of Pelican Rapids, MN died on October 18, 2014 at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota.LeRoy Arlington Haugrud was born on July 2, 1930 in rural Pelican Rapids the son of Martin and Josephine (Arntson) Haugrud. He was baptized and confirmed in Grove Lake Lutheran Church in rural Pelican Rapids. LeRoy attended district #217 Sand Lake School near Pelican Rapids. During the Korean War, LeRoy served in the 6th Armored Division, Fort Leonard Wood, in the United States Army. Returning from his military duty, Leroy came Home to take over the family farm near Pelican Rapids with his brother, Orville, which he farmed until he retired.LeRoy was a dedicated and lifelong member of Grove Lake Lutheran Church. His faith and church were very important to him.He enjoyed dancing, singing hymns, and playing bingo. LeRoy was a lover of music, tractors and loved all types of animals. LeRoy was a kind-hearted person and most of all loved his family, his church and his Savior Jesus Christ. He will be remembered for having a good sense of humor.LeRoy is survived by his brother, Mike Haugrud, Pelican Rapids; sister, Verna Anderson, Fergus Falls, sisters-in-law: Marian Haugrud and Clarice Haugrud; brothers-in-laws, Obert Aaberg, Rothsay, and Kenneth Lein, Fergus Falls; aunts, uncles and numerous nieces and nephews.LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: George, Milo, Robert, Orville and Marvin; sisters: Helen Lein, Violet Christenson and Jeanette Aaberg; sister-in-law, Pat Haugrud; brothers-in-law: Clarence Anderson and Donald Christenson.
