Robert (Bob) Babler Jr

Robert (Bob) William Babler Jr., age 67, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at his residence.Robert (Bob) William Babler Jr. was born May 24th, 1947 in Parkers Prairie to Robert Sr. and Winnifred (Weishair) Babler. He graduated from Eagle Bend High School in 1965 and joined the United States Army where he served overseas in Vietnam. Putting military life behind him, Bob attended Moorhead State University where he graduated with a general business degree. On November 16, 1974 Bob married Judy Pachan of Clarissa MN, dubbing it the "happiest day of his life". Bob and Judy moved from Fargo ND to Pelican Rapids MN in 1981; they purchased their current home and started a lifetime of memories in their little white house on the hill. In 2009, Bob retired from Lake Region Electric Coop as a credit manager and started the life he was "born for". Bob had many interests that ranged from building & flying airplanes, scuba diving and cycling to Cribbage, crossword puzzles and puttering around the house. Bob is remembered as a man witty enough to make you laugh at the drop of a hat and sensitive enough to don a Santa suit for his "grandchildren's" entertainment. He was always great fun for his nieces and nephews and continued the tradition by becoming "Grandpa Bobo" to their children. Bob is survived by Judy, of Pelican Rapids, MN, his loving wife of 40 years; his mother: Winnifred Babler, of Alexandria, MN; sisters: Sandy Babler, of Coon Rapids, MN and Nancy (Mike) Massey, of Tallahassee, FL, with their children Michaela and Abigail; sisters-in-law: Donna (Ed) Benning, of Avon, MN, with their children Jackie, Craig and Tracy, Linda (Steve) Gjerstad, of Eagle Bend, MN, with their children Tom and Curt, Mary Burns, of Avon, MN, with her children Brett, Scott and Tyler and Jani (Mike) Floyd, of St. Simons Island, GA, with their children Jason, Justin, Johanna, Jodell, Jordan and Jocelyn; brother-in-law: T. John (Holly) Pachan, of Owen, WI, with their children Tara, Kyle and Zane He was preceded in death by his father; Robert Babler Sr.; father-in-law, John Pachan; mother-in-law, Louise (Oase) Pachan.Visitation: Thursday, January 22, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN.
