Glanis E. Haugan, age 89, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at his home in rural Pelican Rapids, MN.Glanis E. Haugan was born November 19, 1925 in Minneapolis, MN, to Martin and Alma Haugen. At age 2 he moved with his family to Pelican Rapids, MN area where he grew up on his grandparent's farm and attended District 59 country school and Pelican Rapids High School.He married Tilda Mae Weber on October 28, 1956 at First Lutheran Church in New Rockford, ND. The following year Glanis and Tilda purchased the farm where he grew up and lived his entire life. They were dairy farmers until their retirement in 1990. While being a dairy farmer, Glanis served as a delegate to the AMPI.Glanis was confirmed and remained a lifelong member of North Immanuel Church, rural Pelican Rapids, where he had served on church council.After retirement Glanis enjoyed visiting with friends, mowing the lawn, reading and watching sports on television. He especially enjoyed football. In 1992 Glanis and Tilda enjoyed a wonderful trip touring Norway, Denmark and Sweden. Glanis is survived by his loving wife, Tilda, Pelican Rapids, MN; three daughters: Jacqueline (Mike) Aagesen, Fergus Falls, MN, Joeline (Scott) Schroeder, Fergus Falls, MN and Julie (Lynn) Krueger, Sycamore, IL; 7 Grandchildren: Tyson Masters and girlfriend Krista Larum, Trever Masters and fiance Kim Lindblom, Katelyn and Paige Lee, Jordan, Danielle and Jacob Schroeder; brother: Duane (Helen) Haugen, Fergus Falls, MN; sisters: Delores Sorum, Pelican Rapids, MN, Darlene (Dale) Bischoff, New Prague, MN, Janet (Orlando) Follingstad, Ottertail, MN; sisters-in-law: Martha Haugen, Pelican Rapids, MN and Valdine Haugen, Fergus Falls, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Jerome and Manley and sons-in-law: Jim Masters and Lynn Lee.Visitation: Friday, July 17, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m.at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN.
