Gary Haga, age 54, died Saturday, April 9, 2016 at his home in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Gary Wayne Haga was born April 9, 1962 in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Leonard and Angeline (Sayers) Haga. He attended school in Pelican Rapids and graduating from Pelican Rapids High School in 1980. Gary went to school at the Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Minneapolis, MN for TV/Radio Broadcasting. Gary moved to Colorado and worked at a radio station for a period of time. He moved back to Minnesota where he attended Fergus Falls Community College for journalism. His education continued at Willmar College where he studied philosophy. Gary earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Moorhead State University. He taught elementary education and was a permanent substitute in the Pelican Rapids and the entire surrounding area. He also worked at Gorton Turkey Farms since 2004. Gary enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings and the local high school sports. His greatest love was listening to music, especially billboard and classic rock.Gary is survived by his sister, Susanne Haga, Dent; stepbrothers: Mike Olson, Paris, OH and Matthew Olson, Kansas City, KS; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.Gary is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: John Martin, Gimos Martin, Vincent Martin, and Cameron Haga.Celebration of Life will be Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Pelican Rapids Senior Citizen's Center with a short memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Please come and share stories with the family.
