Marilyn Terry, 68, a resident of Pelican Rapids passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the PioneerCare Center in Fergus Falls after a lengthy battle with diabetes.Marilyn Jean was born on September 2, 1947 in Detroit Lakes and was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dent, Minnesota.Marilyn and Ed lived in Fargo, Apple Valley, Minnesota, Cogswell, Forman, Cooperstown, North Dakota and Pelican Rapids since 1991. She graduated from Perham High School in 1965 and later attended Wahpeton School of Science where she earned an LPN Nursing license in 1984. She enjoyed nursing in several clinics, and nursing homes, as well as working as a home health nurse. Marilyn loved her two boys and their friends. She was thoroughly involved in their school performance and especially loved their sports activities in Pelican Rapids. Marilyn was well known for her delicious caramel rolls, wild rice soup, knitting, and crocheting. She also was an avid reader who loved the Pelican Rapids library and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Marilyn will be remembered for her quick wit and fun-loving sense of humor. Marilyn loved her church life at Faith Lutheran Church which was a big part of her life and she thoroughly enjoyed all the fellowship activities.Marilyn is survived by her beloved sons: Matt Terry, Chicago, IL John (Melissa Seifert) Terry, and granddaughter Minnie Jean, McAllen, TX as well as sisters: Veona (John) Murphy, Audrey Nyland, brothers: Doug Ronning, Robert (Bonnie) Ronning, Jerry (Linda) Ronning; and brother-in-law Wayne (Laurel) Terry. Marilyn also had many nieces, nephews and friends.Marilyn is preceded in death by husband Edward Terry, parents Singval (Pearl DeGroat) Ronning, brother Rudy, sister Verna Liljenquist and parents-in-law Robert (Margaret) Terry. Visitation: Friday, June 17, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN.
