Keith Haugrud

Keith Haugrud, age 59, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Keith Milton Haugrud was born the second child of Milton and Marlene (Heggen) Haugrud on April 7, 1957 in Pelican Rapids, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Grove Lake Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids. He attended primary and high school in Pelican Rapids, graduating in 1975. Keith was a lifelong farmer; farming alongside his Dad and in 1983 they formed a farming partnership with his brother Brad. On October 19, 1991, Keith was united in marriage to Bonita Wielenberg at Grove Lake Lutheran Church. They happily welcomed their only daughter, Katlyn Haugrud in 2002. As a family, they continued to crop and dairy farm. Keith was always particular and meticulous about his things; from his childhood GI Joe toys to the vehicles he drove. He was a man devoted to his wife, daughter, siblings, and parents. Family was very important to him, spending time together on bike rides, camping, and other activities. During his younger years, he enjoyed snowmobiling, ice fishing, and riding motorcycle. He was on a bowling and archery league. He was a very humble man, who had a quiet faith. Keith was active in the Grove Lake Lutheran Church, including church council, ushering, and cemetery committee. Keith is survived by his wife Bonnie, Pelican Rapids, daughter Katlyn, at home, father Milton Haugrud, Pelican Rapids, sister Cheryl (Les) Sass, Hudson, WI, brother Bradley (Shawn) Haugrud, Pelican Rapids, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Marlene Haugrud, grandparents, Knute and Johanna Haugrud, Art and Thelma Heggen. Visitation: Thursday, August 4, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.at Grove Lake Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, MN.
