Bennie "Burt" Crosswhite, 77, of Fergus Falls, MN died Monday, August 1, 2016 at Pioneer Care Center in Fergus Falls, MN. Bennie Burton Crosswhite was born on February 6, 1939 to Joseph A. Crosswhite and Martha Blanche (Gray) Crosswhite in Morton, Mississippi. He grew up in Canton, MS and attended high school there. He then entered in the US Air Force from 1961 to 1967. He was stationed in Florida and primarily Alaska. He remained in Alaska and began working for IBM. Bennie continued working for IBM for over 20 years. He was united in marriage to Joyce Arlene Keel in 1967. To this union two children were born, Greg in 1968 and Mollie Jo in 1971. Later in 1971, they moved to Springfield, MO, in 1974 to Valley City, ND, 1975 to Forest Lake, MN, then in 1979 moved to Monroe, NY, and in 1987 to St. Anthony, MN, in 1992 to Fargo, ND, 1994 they moved to Pelican Rapids, MN. Joyce died in 1995. In 1996, he moved to McCalaster, OK, and then in 2000 Hot Springs Village, AR, then in 2008 Canton, MS, and then in 2014 to Fergus Falls, MN. Burt enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and fishing. He was a man of great moral character; he had a strong work ethic, and was an active church goer. Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed many travels and camping trips. He was an active Scoutmaster. He was a strong, loyal man, and loving man. He had an "off sense" of humor and loved to tease and wordplay with people. Burt gave the biggest bear hugs. He is survived by two children: son Greg Crosswhite, Fergus Falls, MN, daughter Mollie Jo (Gabe) Dean, Ramsey, MN, four grandchildren: Natalie, Kayla, Benjamin, and Megan Dean, sister Ruby Tolbert, Canton, MS, several nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce in 1995, parents, and three brothers Edward, Billy, and Michael Crosswhite.
