Barbara Plummer, age 87, of Pelican Rapids, died on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at her home in Pelican Rapids.Barbara was born on January 1, 1929 in Pelican Rapids to John and Ellen (Nelson) Femling, the youngest of three children. She grew up on a farm in Maplewood Township where she attended country school, first through seventh grade. Her eighth grade year was spent in Pelican Rapids. In 1942 the family moved to Long Beach, CA where she attended her ninth and tenth grade years. Her family returned back to Minnesota where she graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1946. In June of 1946 she started to work as a legal secretary in Pelican Rapids where she worked for four years. On December 18, 1949 she was united in marriage with Wayne Plummer of Pelican Rapids. In 1951 they moved to St. Paul where they lived before moving to Alexandria, MN for twelve years. In 1964 they moved to West Fargo, ND. In 1976 they moved back to Pelican Rapids. She retired in December 1990 after working at West Fargo Insurance Agency for 24 years.She enjoyed many summers with family and friends at their cabin on Lake Lizzie. She loved knitting, reading and playing cards.Barbara was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Pelican Rapids.Barbara was survived by her husband Wayne, Pelican Rapids; two sons: Alan (Bev) Moorhead, MN, Steven (Janice) Fargo, ND; daughter Jane (Roger) Sell, Hawley and dearly loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents and two brothers, Dexter and Leslie Fleming.Memorial preferred to Lake View CemeteryMemorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2016, First Congregational United Church of Christ in Pelican Rapids.Clergy: Pastor Rob SandstromInterment: Lake View Cemetery, Pelican RapidsFuneral Home:Larson Funeral Home304 3rd Street S.E.Pelican Rapids, MNUS 56572
