Thelma Gelinda Grahn

December 2, 1918 — March 23, 2017

Thelma Gelinda Grahn of Eventide, 8th Street, Moorhead, Minnesota, formerly of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, passed away March 23, 2017 at the age of 98.She was born December 2, 1918, at rural Pelican Rapids to Christ and Hilda (Sorenson) Togstad farm. She was baptized and confirmed at the Bethel Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids.She and Lawrence Grahn were married Dec. 19, 1936 by Pastor M.S. Gjerde at the parsonage, Pelican Rapids. She has been a member of Zion Lutheran Church on Franklin Lake since that time. They lived on a farm near Franklin Lake for many years before going to Fair Hills Resort to work and live for 15 years. They moved back to the farm where they built a new house and barn with dairy until Lawrence passed away on June 1974 from colon cancer. This left her and Bruce doing the work until he graduated. Several years later she moved to the Mill Pond, Pelican Rapids.She was a great help with Lawrence doing carpentry, farming and work at the resort. She had many hobbies, sewing, needle work, baking many Norwegian goodies, doing puzzles, and babysitting her grandchildren.She has three daughters, LaRayne and Ron Erickson, Elaine Halverson (Gene, her husband recently passed away), all of Moorhead; Mary and Doug Devorak of Oakridge, OR; and two sons, Lawrence (Larry) and Judy Grahn, and Bruce and Sue Grahn, rural Vergas, who remain on the farm. She has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.
