The death of a loved one is one of life’s most painful experiences. As you travel along the path of grief, you may feel at times as though you’re wandering in a fog of sorts-uncertain as to what lies ahead or which way to turn.
With the help of your faith, and of your family and friends, you may find renewed hope and life, and signs along grief’s path that will help you to know that you’re going in the right direction.
Please know that while our mission is to serve families and help them to celebrate the life of a loved one, we are very aware that grief does not come to an end as you leave the funeral service. The need to talk about the loss of a loved one may seem overwhelming after a day, or week, or month, or even years. Long after family and friends have returned to normal schedules, you may still feel a need to talk to someone who is willing to listen and understand.
To learn more about the grief support resources in our community, you may also visit our community resources page where we have listed several national, as well as local grief support groups. Many of the sources listed may help provide you with sound information to help you cope with your feelings and emotions at this most difficult time.
Camp Amanda
Working with grieving families over the past 100 years has given us a special compassion for children who are experiencing a loss. We saw that, too often, children were not getting the support needed to adjust to their loss, leaving them struggling. In 2002, we joined with funeral directors all over the state to create Camp Amanda-Minnesota, a free weekend camp for children, ages 6-18 who have experienced the death of someone important to them. It is specially designed to provide the support and information children need, in a way they can understand. For more information, give us a call or click this link to the Camp Amanda-Minnesota website.
We are proud to support Camp Amanda-Minnesota
